SSAS Pension Strategist

Kathryn Taylor

30 years in SSAS. Property-led pension strategies for business owners.

Kathryn Taylor

Kathryn Taylor is the founder of Taylored SSAS, a SSAS administration firm built on 30 years of experience in the industry. A SSAS is an important tax tool that runs alongside the trading company, supporting the company through its various stages of growth whilst giving the company directors control over their own personal journey — and Taylored SSAS becomes a true partner in that journey.

Kathryn started her career studying accountancy and made the switch to SSAS accounting 7 years later. That tax skill set was transferable and gave her a deep understanding of the benefits of these schemes for a company and its directors. She went on to work for the largest SSAS providers at the time, progressing to become a SSAS & SIPP consultant. She was appointed Managing Director of GPC Ltd in 2005, administering both SSAS and SIPP products, and held that post for 14 years.

Kathryn is known for her hands-on approach, meticulous compliance standards, and ability to simplify complex pension structures. She supports company directors with clarity, confidence, and genuine personal care.

A SSAS is the most tax-efficient company savings vehicle — and it's a 'must have' part of a company's journey.

Her background in tax-efficient structuring and property-led pension strategies allows her to guide clients through every stage of their SSAS journey — from initial setup and trustee documentation to property purchase, lending, and long-term scheme management, trustee governance, HMRC compliance and ongoing administration.

Where does a SSAS fit in a company's journey?

  • The most tax-efficient company savings vehicle
  • Can enrol up to 11 members — usually key employees or family members, all trustees and co-signatories
  • Accessible from age 55 (57 in 2028)
  • Initial contribution of up to £240,000 per member as a tax-deductible company expense, then £60,000 per member per annum
  • 25% of the fund payable as a tax-free lump sum
  • Completely protected from company and personal creditors as a registered pension scheme
  • Can authorise loans to the company from the fund
  • Can purchase commercial property, including the company premises
  • Can invest in a wide range of investments controlled by the member trustees
  • Can receive transfers of members' existing pension scheme savings
  • Assets grow free from tax

Kathryn has built Taylored SSAS to give business owners a boutique alternative: a service where every detail is handled carefully, every question is answered, and every client feels supported.
